Various factors cause recurrence of vertigo

Vertigo can occur for several minutes to hours. Symptoms can also recur at any time. The cause of recurrence of vertigo can be triggered by changes in head position as well as several diseases such as problems in the inner ear and head. If you ever feel the sensation of the head feels spinning or the environment around spinning, you most likely experience vertigo. Vertigo itself usually often appears when someone changes the position of his head. The change in position in question can look and feel normal for someone who is healthy, but the impact is different for a person with vertigo. Another cause is a problem in the inner ear canal. This part of the ear serves to transmit information and become a body's sensor in detecting changes in posture, movement, and body position through nerves to the brain.

Causes of Recurring Vertigo

To find out the causes of vertigo often recur, it's good to understand well what triggers this disorder. One common cause of this disorder is benign paroxysmal position vertigo (BPPV). The term refers to the sudden emergence of a spinning sensation. In addition, this condition can also be described by someone who experiences the sensation of spinning inside his head. The cause of vertigo recurs if you have BPPV tendency is associated with changes in head position. Examples of actions to change the position of the head that can cause vertigo attacks, include:
  • Lying body
  • Reverse body position
  • Raise or bow your head
Vertigo attacks caused by BPPV generally last a short time, but can be unbearable and occur repeatedly. This type of vertigo usually lasts between a few seconds to a maximum of several minutes. Someone who has vertigo is likely to experience dizziness and loss of balance for several minutes to several hours after the attack. The cause of recurrence of vertigo associated with BPPV is the release of calcium carbonate crystals in the lining of the inner ear canal. Under normal circumstances, this will not cause vertigo attacks, but interference arises when the fragments of the crystal then enter into one of the canals filled with ear fluid. This is because when the head moves, broken crystals will be swept away so that it sends confusing signals to the brain. The cause of BPPV itself is still not known with certainty, but several risk factors that make it more likely include:
  • An infection in the ear
  • Underwent ear surgery
  • Head injury
  • Family history of recurring vertigo
  • Diabetes
  • Bed rest is too long in order to recover from disease
Generally, people with benign paroxysmal position vertigo (BPPV) are those who have aged 50 years and over. Even so, this disorder can still affect anyone at any age range. This disorder is also considered more often befall women than men. Until now, drugs were often not very effective in dealing with symptoms of vertigo due to BPPV. Consult your doctor about what triggers the recurrence of vertigo. Thus, this unpleasant condition can be managed and can be prevented by avoiding the causes of vertigo.
